Old Bridge Township-based retail leasing specialist R.J. Brunelli & Co. LLC announced Thursday that it has been selected to be the exclusive national tenant representative for Manalapan-based Max Challenge Franchising, a franchisor of fitness centers.According to the announcement, Max Challenge has 21 franchises throughout New Jersey, New York and California.  The company is planning to open five additional centers by June and has three others in various stages of development.

Max Challenge is currently seeking 2,000- to 3,000-square-foot spaces in New Jersey, specifically in the Hoboken/Edgewater, Montclair, Bergen County and Cherry Hill areas, the announcement said.

“We look forward to working with Max Franchising as they move to expand their footprint throughout New Jersey, metro New York and neighboring states, and eventually nationwide,” Patti Fiore, R.J. Brunelli account manager, said in a statement.

“As people who previously owned and managed fitness centers, one of the things that impressed Patti and I the most was the fact that most of the chain’s franchisees are individuals who had gone through the Max Challenge program as consumers,” Joseph Amecangelo, co-manager of the account with Fiore, said in a statement. “That’s certainly the ultimate endorsement.”
