Retail at Vermella Union coming in strong with 80 percent leased

The shops at Russo Development’s luxury mixed-use Vermella Union are 80 percent leased to retailers drawn by the potential of options available to the 1,250 new apartment community near Kean University.

CVS Pharmacy recently opened at The Shoppes at Vermella Union adding its pharmacy, groceries, and a MinuteClinic to the retail options available to residents. Chipotle, Panera Bread, Habit Burger, and Starbucks with a drive-through are all also open and offering outdoor dining, with plans to resume indoor dining as soon as social distancing guidelines allow. The Shoppes at Vermella were born of the idea that these conveniences would be ideal for Vermella residents as well as the larger Union and surrounding community.

Vermella Union’s first phase of 415 apartment homes are already 60 percent leased as May and June proved to show strong virtual leasing activity.

Vermella Union boasts nearly 10,000 square feet of outdoor spaces including a resort-style swimming pool, a rooftop deck, outdoor kitchen area, fire pits, and courtyards within buildings, designed by landscape architecture firm Melillo & Bauer Associates.

Vermella Union’s other conveniences include concierge service, package lockers, and a spacious dog park.

Apartment homes feature nine-foot ceilings, plank flooring throughout, walk-in closets with custom built-ins, custom window treatments, a vented washer and dryer in each home, and a smart lock system that makes coming and going a breeze. Net monthly rents start from $1,685, with a limited-time offer of one month free on a 13-month lease and immediate occupancy available.
