Tara Schellhorn was elected partner in Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP’s bankruptcy and reorganization group in Morristown.
The firm also appointed three counsel: Jorge Sanchez to the commercial litigation group; Hunt Ricker to the securities litigation, arbitration, regulation, and investigations group; and Rebecca Borgese to the securities litigation, arbitration, regulation, and investigations group and the commercial litigation group.
Schellhorn focuses her practice on all aspects of bankruptcy and restructuring, including the representation of debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees, financial institutions, secured lenders, unsecured creditors and others in complex chapter 11 cases. Her litigation experience includes prosecuting and defending nondischargeability, preference and other avoidance actions.
Sanchez focuses his practice on real estate and title insurance litigation, regularly handling disputes such as business and shareholder disputes and litigation, title insurance claims and coverage investigations, disputes and litigations involving mortgage fraud, forgery, mortgage priority disputes, commercial foreclosures, and commercial lease litigation.
Ricker represents broker-dealers and their employees in matters including sales practice arbitrations, employment disputes, subpoenas, and regulatory enforcement defense; and routinely litigates for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, or FINRA, throughout the country and in New Jersey and New York state and federal courts.
Borgese focuses on securities arbitration and litigation representing broker-dealers and registered representatives, defending against alleged violations of Securities and Exchange Commission and FINRA Rules, and claims for unsuitability, churning, unauthorized trading, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. Additionally, she represents broker-dealers and registered representatives in regulatory examinations and disciplinary proceedings.
