Robert Wood Johnson announces CFO resignation

After serving as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, in New Brunswick, for nearly three years, Paul D. Storiale has resigned from his role to pursue a career in education, a spokesman said.

After serving as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, in New Brunswick, for nearly three years, Paul D. Storiale has resigned from his role to pursue a career in education, a spokesman said.

“Paul has resigned to pursue his lifelong dream of teaching,” spokesman Peter Haigney said. “We don’t know where he’s going to go yet, but we believe he is returning back to Connecticut.”

Before joining Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in March 2010, Storiale served as CFO of St. Raphael Healthcare System, in New Haven, Conn., and CFO of Gaylord Hospital, in Wallingford, Conn.

Under Storiale’s leadership, the medical center inked several joint ventures, including a partnership with Regent Surgical Health to convert its outpatient department to allow local physicians to share resources.

“We’ve already begun actively seeking a new CFO,” Haigney said. “It shouldn’t be difficult to find someone, because we’re one of the top academic medical centers in the country and we’re doing very well financially.”
