Cynthia A. Niekamp, vice president at BorgWarner, joins Rockwood’s board.Rockwood Holdings (NYSE: ROC), a specialty chemicals and advanced materials concern in Princeton, has added a vice president of Borg Warner to its board of directors and the board”s audit committee. Cynthia A. Niekamp, who is also president and general manager of Borg WarnerÂs TorqTransfer Systems business, yesterday joined the Rockwood board as its ninth member.
Prior to joining Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Borg Warner, which produces engineered systems and components, Niekamp held various executive positions with MeadWestvaco”s Specialty Papers division, including the CFO post. A Harvard MBA, she received an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University.
Rockwood employs about10,800 people around the world and reported net revenue of some $2.9 billion in 2004 on a pro forma basis. Company shares gained $0.15 to $23.83 in afternoon trading.
