Dr. Olga Jarrin of Rutgers and VNA’s Dr. Robert Rosati are working together to craft a methodology to identify home health patients that may be living with dementia or advanced cognitive impairment.
Financial details of the grants were not disclosed.
The Alliance collected proposals in December for subjects including payment and delivery reform, patient and person centered care, technology, home health employees and innovation, from which three were chosen for grants.
“By seeding the money to pilot a number of different projects, the Alliance is helping to drive the future of home health care forward through high-quality research,” said Donald Stelly, chairman of the Alliance’s board of directors, in a release.
Other recipients include Columbia University School of Nursing, the Rand Corp. and the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.
Completion of the chosen projects is expected within 12 to 18 months.
