Achievements will be recognized during 2010 National Small Business Week.The U.S. Small Business Administration is searching for outstanding New Jersey small-business owners and small-business champions to be honored during next yearÂs National Small Business Week, scheduled for May 23 to 29.
Nominations are being sought for the 2010 New Jersey Small Business Person of the Year and for outstanding SBA Small Business Champions, who are advocates in the areas of minority-, women- and veteran-owned businesses, and financial services and home-based companies. The New Jersey district also is seeking candidates for Small Business Exporter of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year and an SBA Family-Owned Business of the Year.
ÂEach year, the president designates a week to honor and recognize the achievements of the nationÂs 27.2 million small-business owners, said Jim Kocsi, New Jersey district director for the agency. ÂWe are looking to individuals, local chambers of commerce, banks, trade associations and other community-based business organizations to submit nominations and sponsor candidates.Â
