The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey is headed to the small screen with a big message for an expanding audience.
Univision New York, a part of Univision Communications Inc., and SHCCNJ said they are launching a half-hour weekly program to educate and empower Hispanic small business owners: “Amigos de Univision.”
According to the partners, their target audience represents the fastest-growing demographic in the tristate area.
The Brea Frank-hosted show, which debuted April 19, will air Sundays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. EST on Univision 41, UniMás New York 68 and Univision New York’s digital platforms.
Both SHCCNJ President Carlos Medina and President of the organization’s executive board Luis de La Hoz will contribute and guest on the program.
According to SHCCNJ and Univision NY, “Amigos de Univision” will explore topics including: Small Business 101: Everything you need to know to kick-start your business; how to gain access to financial resources; highlights of best examples of successful businesses; and profile spotlights on local small business owners.
In a prepared statement, Univision New York President and General Manager Roberto Yañez said: “Amigos de Univsion” was developed with those small business owners sheltering in place due to COVID-19 restrictions particularly in mind.
“Through this exclusive partnership with the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey to provide our audience with on-air training, education and support, we hope to support the over 40 percent of Hispanic small business owners in the tristate area who provide more than $31 billion in local economic stimulus,” he said.
