SHI International Corp., a $14 billion technology solutions provider headquartered in Somerset, is now even larger.
The company announced May 4 it established a subsidiary in the Netherlands, SHI International BV, expanding its services to customers in the European Union.
Celeste Lee, senior vice president, International, said SHI grew its international business by 25% in 2022.
“[T]his investment will help us maintain that trajectory in 2023 and beyond, despite the challenging economic climate,” Lee added in a statement.
The new sales and finance operation in Amsterdam complements SHI’s warehousing and integration facility in Tiel, Netherlands, as well as operations in Dublin and Paris, the company said.
In November 2022, SHI International also opened its Nexus Integration Center in the U.K.
Lee added that SHI is “investing heavily” in its international operations to support North American customers with operations in Europe, as well as customers in the U.K., France, Ireland, Netherlands and other EU countries.
SHI International BV will hire new positions in sales, finance and technology, with plans to expand the staff throughout the rest of the year. The company currently employs more than 6,000 people worldwide.
A representative for SHI said the company did not have photos of the new operation yet.
