ShopRite Family – SHOPRITE
There are 50 families who own ShopRite’s 276 stores, and they want you to have dinner with your family.
ShopRite, a trademark owned by Wakefern Food Corp. in Keasbey, will host cooking classes and in-store events run by in-store dietitians throughout the month of September in honor of National Family Meals Month.
“Research has shown that as a result of Family Meals Month campaigns taking place across the nation, families are cooking more meals at home, making healthier food choices, and eating together more often,” said ShopRite’s Director of Health and Wellness and registered dietitian Natalie Menza-Crowe in a statement. “We’re extremely grateful to have the opportunity to help our customers discover the joy and lasting benefits of enjoying more meals together.”
The Food Marketing Institute Foundation was created in 2015 to encourage families to have one more meal at home each week. Family meals strengthen the family’s social fabric and encourage healthier eating, according to the FMI, and deter unhealthy behaviors like substance abuse.
“Our owners live and work in the communities that their stores are located in,” said Menza-Crowe in a statement. “They understand the ever-changing challenges of balancing work and home lives, and are committed to helping shoppers find healthy meal solutions that offer variety, flexibility and value.”
Events geared toward assisting customers in finding healthy meal solutions vary by store. The supermarket will also support the campaign by distributing free recipe books, social media content, TV commercials, weekly circulars, online ads and outdoor billboards.
