The Smart Hospital Challenge seeks to harness health technology innovation to update and streamline hospital facilities and operations with solutions focusing on data integration, analytics and visualization; sensors; AI-based learning; and secure networks and communications.

Health care costs continue to rise for not just individuals, but hospitals as well. The challenge asserts that addressing these issues at the system level will provide more efficient care to patients and address the more than $14 billion lost each year that the U.S. Department of Commerce says is due to inefficient facility information management.

Entrepreneurs and companies looking to submit proposals can do so on NJII’s website. Selected proposals will be eligible to participate in a Pitch Day event Oct. 10 in Ocean County.
