Smith Takes the Helm

South JerseyMILLBURN GRISOFT, a developer of Internet-security software, named J.R. Smith its new CEO. Smith, co-founder and former CEO of British virtual mobile operator Dot Mobile, will relocate from England. Chief technology officer Karel Obluk, who has been the acting CEO for the past year, will again focus on strategic and technical development for the 16-year-old company. “In the last few years AVG GRISOFT has developed from a primarily local purveyor of antivirus software to one of the leading international providers of comprehensive Internet security, protecting some 50 million computers worldwide,” said Gabriel Eichler, the company’s chairman. “This appointment is one of our key steps aiming to strengthen the ranks of senior management with more international experience.”
