Brody’s Crafted Cocktails, a South Jersey-based line of premium, ready-to-serve bottled cocktails, took home several honors at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Held April 13-15, the annual contest – considered one of the most prestigious of its kind – awarded silver medals in the ready-to-drink category to Brody’s Peach Cosmo-Vodka Cocktail, Brody’s Air Mail-Rum Cocktail and Brody’s Touch of Grey-Vodka Cocktail.
The brand picked up bronze medals for Brody’s French 75-Gin Cocktail, Brody’s Black Orchid-Vodka Cocktail, Brody’s Minted Mule-Vodka Cocktail and Brody’s Leading Role-Bourbon Cocktail.
Brody’s upcoming summer release, Classic Mai Tai, earned a coveted double gold medal and will be among the three finalists for Best in Class at the Tasting Alliance Top Shelf Gala Awards Gala next month in Las Vegas.
Now in its 23rd year, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition had more than 5,000 entries from around the world in dozens of categories, with winners ranging from renowned international distillers to small-batch producers. Medals are awarded based on factors such as quality and craftsmanship, with the double gold medal reserved for spirits that earned top marks by every member of the judging panel.
Launched in 2021, Brody’s is a woman-founded beverage brand that offers an easy way to enjoy mixology-level cocktails at home. The spirit-based drinks, which come in classic and imaginative flavors, use high-quality, natural ingredients to ensure consistent flavor and balance, pour after pour.
Cristy Neunson, Brody’s co-founder, said, “After re-formulating our cocktails earlier this year to reduce and eliminate color fading and ingredient sedimentation, we knew we were on the right path to setting an even higher standard of an authentic craft cocktail experience at home or on-the-go. We are truly honored and humbled by the entire Tasting Alliance organization and their judges in recognizing the significant strides we have made for such a young, family-founded brand that aspires every day to be world-class.”
Brody’s cocktails are available in 375-mL bottles, serve up to five cocktails each and range from 16%-25% alcohol by volume (ABV).
The brand currently retails in the Greater Philadelphia area, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, California, Hawaii, Florida, and to most states via Brody’s e-commerce platform, with a suggested retail price of $10.99-$13.99 per bottle.
Inspired by the spirit of Neunson’s vivacious first puppy, Monty, the company contributes up to 5% of its net proceeds to organizations supporting canine causes. When it came time to name their venture, Neunson and Dyane Unfreed, her sister-in-law and co-founder, combined the names of their childhood dogs to form Brody – a tribute to their beloved pets.
