Spirit Ends A.C. to Vegas Flight

Spirit Airlines discontinued its daily nonstop flight from Atlantic City International Airport to Las Vegas last week.ATLANTIC CITY Spirit Airlines discontinued its daily nonstop flight from Atlantic City International Airport to Las Vegas last week. It ended the eight-month-old route because of rising fuel costs and more efficient uses for the aircraft such as shorter fights to Fort Lauderdale, said Sharon Gordon, director of communications and marketing at the South Jersey Transportation Authority, which operates the airport. The flight attracted a lot of passengers, but Gordon said the once-a-day route was the victim of a trend in the airline industry to reduce long trips. Passengers can still fly to Las Vegas from Atlantic City on a Delta Airlines flight that stops in Atlanta, Gordon added.
