Suburban Propane signed a partnership agreement with the United States Army’s Partnership for Youth Success Program to match service members with employment opportunities, the company announced Sept. 22.
PaYS is a strategic collaboration between the U.S. Army and a cross-section of corporations, companies and public sector agencies that guarantees soldiers an interview and possible employment upon completion of their service.
Per its partnership with PaYS, Suburban Propane can also participate in recruiting functions, community events and various outreach initiatives.
The partnership agreement was signed Sept. 17 at Suburban Propane headquarters in Whippany. Retired Col. Walter Nall, acting deputy commissioner for Veterans Affairs, was present for the signing; as were Suburban Propane President and CEO Michael Stivala; more than 100 Suburban Propane employees; U.S. Rep. Mikie Sheril, a Democrat representing New Jersey’s 11th District; and four PaYS program representatives.
Suburban Propane currently employs 321 military veterans, 15 of whom are based in New Jersey.
