Freehold and Toms River law firm Davison Eastman Muñoz Paone PA announced Monday it named Karen Surgent as its chief operating officer.

Surgent, a certified public accountant, will remain the firm’s chief financial officer, which she has been for over three years.

In her new role as COO, she will provide day-to-day management, leadership and long-term business strategy.

Previous to joining Davison Eastman, which represents clients in corporate litigation as well as civil and criminal cases, Surgent was the controller at New Jersey City University.
