Bennabis Health, a Cranford-based company focused on making medical cannabis more affordable and accessible, is teaming up with one of the nation’s top providers of online patient evaluations.
In a Feb. 21 press release, Bennabis Health announced a partnership with Canna Care Docs, a move that the companies say will further their goal of offering a comprehensive cannabis care solution while also delivering “significant” savings for patients.
Launched in 2021, Bennabis Health works to fill holes in the health insurance industry with membership programs that offer patients discounts to help lower the out-of-pocket cost of medical cannabis, a treatment not covered by health insurance carriers.
Along with a 15% discount at participating network dispensaries, patients who join Bennabis Health’s membership program receive science-based education and support for medical cannabis, according to the startup.
Founded in 2013, Canna Care Docs is one of the leading medical cannabis evaluation organizations in the U.S., offering an online process for patients to receive a state-issued medical card from a trusted medical professional.
As part of the newly announced agreement, Canna Care Docs patients will be eligible for a discounted membership with Bennabis Health, further lowering their expenses, according to the companies.
John Agos, chief executive officer of Bennabis Health, said, “Many medical cannabis patients lack the necessary expertise and are left to navigate the process alone. Our partnership offers trustworthy resources to assist patients at any stage of their medical cannabis journey, reducing cost and making it more accessible.”
Dr. Amanda Reiman, chief knowledge officer at New Frontier Data, Canna Care Doc’s parent company, said, “Since medical cannabis became accessible in the mid 1990’s, there has been a need to connect education and resources with the process of becoming a patient as well as the wellness journey that follows. Canna Care Docs is thrilled to partner with Bennabis Health to ensure that medical cannabis patients have access to the education and support they need and to help ensure that medical cannabis is affordable as well as accessible.”
