Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo is opening its sixth New Jersey store.
Located at Cherry Hill Mall, the 8,200-square-foot shop will celebrate its Aug. 25 grand opening with a weekend full of freebies, treats and games.
The festivities include a Taiko drum performance at 9:30 a.m. on opening day followed by a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony with store associates, mall representatives and local government officials.
Planned giveaways for the weekend include a free tote bag for the first 100 customers upon entry, no purchase required, and a free cooler bag with a purchase of $99 or more.
Uniqlo will also provide free Starbucks coffee and sweets from Tous Les Jours bakery each morning, while supplies last. Additionally, shoppers can spin the Garapon Wheel for a chance to win prizes.
For Uniqlo app members, the store will offer a personalized and authentic Japanese calligraphy experience on Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Founded in 1949, Uniqlo is known for its well-made, casual clothing for women, men and children, as well as its artist collaborations.
The brand now has more than 2,300 stores in 25 markets around the world, including at American Dream mall in East Rutherford, Newport Centre mall in Jersey City, Paramus Park mall in Paramus, Willowbrook Mall in Wayne and Menlo Park Mall in Edison.
Uniqlo joins a retail lineup at Cherry Hill Mall that includes Boss, Abercrombie & Fitch, JC Penny, Hollister, Banana Republic, Loft, Nordstrom, Champ’s Sports, Brooks Brothers, Express, Forever 21, H&M, Guess, J.Crew, Levi’s, Macy’s, Old Navy, Vans, Urban Outfitters and Soma.
