The state Treasury's Division of Investment announced the Emerging Managers initiative, along with proposing its first investment of up to $250 million.

Guided by the theme of “Investment in Our Planet,” the new blue and green carbon initiative will provide $15 million to projects across the Garden State with the goal of creating, restoring and enhancing salt marshes, sea grass beds, forests and urban parks to help in the fight against climate change.

A group of state and local officials celebrated the groundbreaking for the $45 million project, which will overhaul the stop that pre-COVID served an average of 874 weekday customer trips.

The addition of 17,800 jobs continues a trend of 16 consecutive months of gains. However, the state still has a higher unemployment rate than the nation’s.

The governor's keynote address at the ReNEW Jersey event in Atlantic City included details of his administration's goals and plans, what he feels are its achievements, and highlighted the importance of supporting the seaside resort town.

The governor was joined by Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver, U.S. Rep. Andy Kim, D-3rd District, and several other lawmakers and officials to promote the fund, which was unveiled as part of the administration's fiscal year 2023 budget proposal.

The Assembly and Senate Budget Committees each held hearings with officials from the non-partisan Office of Legislative Services, as well as State Treasurer Elizabeth Maher Muoio.

Not all employees will be eligible because of the nature of their jobs. The Department of Labor & Workforce Development and Motor Vehicle Commission are two such examples, since employees’ primary responsibilities involve in-person services.

The previous grace period for residential water, sewer and municipal electric customers ended on March 15, and was extended by executive order.

“A key goal of the Energy Master Plan is dramatically reducing greenhouse gas emissions and today’s action by the Board is a massive step in that direction," New Jersey Board of Public Utilities President Joseph Fiordaliso said.

The trip, which will bring the governor to Dublin and Cork next month, was announced on St. Patrick's Day.

“Our Administration is committed to using the fullest extent of the law to ensure that Russia is held accountable for its brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine,” Gov. Murphy said.
