Colliers is growing in New Jersey. And now, it has more space to accommodate that expansion from its new location at Northpoint from Vision Real Estate Partners in Morris County.
Global commercial real estate services and investment management firm Colliers announced the move of its Parsippany office location to the Class A property at 20 Waterview Blvd. on June 2. The new 7,500-square-foot space currently houses about 30 employees and Executive Managing Director and Market Leader of Colliers New Jersey Dennis Waggner says the company is looking to hire additional brokers and support staff.
“We are continuing in our growth mode,” he told NJBIZ via email.
Located in Suite 310, Colliers’ space underwent a completely new build-out, incorporating modern fixtures, finishes, furniture and technology. Not a bad situation to return to after remote-work has dominated much of the past two years for office workers. According to Waggner, Colliers launched a flexible work schedule for employees four weeks ago that has them in the office for three days and remote for two.
One of the biggest distinctions those workers will likely notice between working from home and working from the office is one of the features that makes it so seamless to have such a set up: everything is Plug and Play, Waggner said, and there are universal docking stations throughout the new space. Another feature unique to the office is the ability to collaborate in-person. At Colliers’ new space there are team meeting rooms just for that purpose, which also enable virtual interaction. The office’s three conference rooms, as well, offer audio/visual capabilities.
“The space also includes high speed Wi-Fi, utilization software to measure what space is being used and assist in monitoring return to office protocols, softphone technology driven off our computers, double/triple monitors for employees, laptop computers for all which allows for remote working employees, and more,” according to Waggner.
Northpoint in Parsippany also recently underwent its own transformation. Following a multimillion-dollar effort, the 225,000-square-foot office building boasts a renovated lobby, café and common areas, conference centers, an open atrium and a patio, all located close to Interstates 287 and 80 with shipping and dining options nearby.
Colliers is also the leasing agent for the property, and according to Waggner, that arrangement brings added benefits, and is by design.
“In doing our space search, I insisted that we be in a building in which we serve as leasing agents,” he said. “It allows us to showcase our own space to prospective tenants to see firsthand what we can do for them. The new/beautiful space also attracts [and] recruits prospective clients.”
The firm described its new office at Northpoint as a “showcase” for the entire market, a way to show prospective Northpoint tenants – or those of other properties – what’s possible with the space, and the building. “[A]nd the hope is that they would hire us to do much the same for them,” Waggner said.
“Simply said, it is a space that we can be proud of — all new build out, new furniture, new technology, fantastic new artwork, bright color scheme with plenty of natural light,” he added.
“We are pleased we were able to provide Colliers an updated office space that suits the needs of their ever-expanding team,” said Vision Real Estate Partners founder and Managing Partner Sam Morreale in a statement. “We’re also looking forward to continuing our work with Colliers as they continue their work as the leasing agent for Northpoint at 20 Waterview Blvd.”
Colliers has additional Garden State office locations in Princeton, Woodbridge and Mount Laurel supporting clients including industrial, office, capital markets and retail through its 50 brokers and support team members that tally up to about half that. In addition to brokerage services, the New Jersey teams offer market resources such as research, analytics, marketing and property management. The company says it’s one of the fastest growing commercial real estate firm’s in the state, with revenues that have increased by nearly two-and-a-half times over the past five years.
