Skye Lofts South opened and reached lease up in Bayonne in 2019. Now, the developer behind it is launching leasing at a new project in the city, Skye Lofts North, located in the city’s downtown district.
Skye Development announced the opening of the 98-unit property at 260 Avenue E. June 9. Initial occupancy is expected July 1.
Skye Loft North is comprised of one-, two- and three-bedroom residences. It is located next to the 22nd Street Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Station, which offers service to Jersey City and Hoboken. The neighborhood also offers shopping, dining, parks and year-round community events, according to Skye Development.
“Bayonne is quickly realizing its potential as the next Gold Coast hot spot,” said Mitchell Burakovsky, president of locally based Skye Development LLC. “It’s appeal largely stems from having a less-densely developed and more suburban setting than Jersey City and Hoboken while still offering a walkable downtown with a growing list of shops, dining, conveniences and commuter connectivity.
“We’re delighted to follow up the success of our first building with the introduction of Skye Lofts North which will continue to shape this burgeoning neighborhood while providing a value-laden alternative to what’s being offered throughout Hudson County,” he added.
Skye Lofts North is situated along the city’s Broadway corridor — located right off of Route 440 — near retail outlets Bayonne Crossing and South Cove Commons. It also offers easy access to the New Jersey Turnpike, Route 78 and the Holland Tunnel.
“Skye Lofts North offers a full suite of amenities to create a boutique hotel-like environment,” said Jacqueline Urgo, president of The Marketing Directors, which is the exclusive marketing and leasing agent for the property. “The building offers a Penthouse communal space with outdoor terrace and indoor common room, fully equipped fitness center, and virtual reality game room. There’s also a virtual doorman intercom system, bike storage, private storage and indoor garage parking.”
Monthly rents at Skye Lofts North start at $2,005 (net effective) with up to two months free on a 14-month lease.
