Around the State – SouthMOUNT LAUREL Mace Security International Inc. (Nasdaq: MACE), a maker of electronic surveillance and personal-defense products, received a noncompliance notice from Nasdaq because of its failure to file an annual report on time. Mace did not file a financial report for the year ended Dec. 31, 2006, by the April 2 deadline and the company exceeded an extension to file by April 16. The company is holding off releasing its numbers after discovering unreconciled accounts and other errors made by the accounting personnel at one of its security-business locations. Mace says it is correcting the errors and hopes to file its annual report by May 24, the date of its appeal hearing with the Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Panel.
