Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center recently announced the completion of renovations that expand and enhance the continuum of care for women at its ambulatory care center in Livingston.
The Breast Center at the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center is now more efficient, private and patient-centered, CBMC announced July 8, with a new, dedicated magnetic resonance imaging machine and an expanded registration area.
The Breast Center, located at 200 S. Orange Ave., offers a comprehensive range of preventative, diagnostic and treatment services for women, such as digital mammograms, ultrasounds and interventional breast procedures.
According to radiologist Dr. Linda Sanders, medical director of the Breast Center at the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center, the dedicated, state-of-the-art MRI machine ensures less of a wait for patients who can now receive scans in a quicker and more efficient manner.
Because it’s onsite, it also allows the center to integrate MRI scans into the patient care routine, allowing for a more comfortable experience, a reduction in wait times, and improved patient flows and diagnostic reporting capabilities.
“With the renovations and addition of the new MRI machine patients can receive a complete range of breast services in one convenient location in a comfortable, soothing atmosphere,” Sanders said in a statement. “Our goal at the Breast Center is to exceed the individual expectations of each patient, to decrease the stress commonly associated with breast testing and to promote breast health and wellness.”
The Breast Center is staffed with a multidisciplinary team with experience treating breast-related issues. Services provided include a variety of screening and diagnostic procedures to detect breast cancer and pinpoint other suspicious areas in the breast, like breast needle localization, mammography, stereotactic core biopsy, breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided cyst aspiration, ultrasound-guided breast biopsy and breast MRI.
