Nutritional retailer The Vitamin Shoppe Inc. tapped Andrew Laudato as executive vice president, chief technology officer on Monday. Laudato joins the Secaucus retailer from Nashville-based Brookdale Senior Living where he spent two years as chief information officer. Prior to that he held a position as senior vice president and chief information officer at retailer Pier 1 Imports for more than 16 years.
Laudato will be responsible for information technology, enterprise project planning and supply chain at Vitamin Shoppe.
“The digital shopping landscape is continuously evolving, and brands and retailers are challenged with keeping pace with changing consumer behaviors and expectations,” Laudato said in a prepared statement. “In an omni-channel world, seamlessly integrating the supply chain with the in-store and digital shopping experience is a top priority. I have had the opportunity to work on many unique technology projects throughout my career and The Vitamin Shoppe’s clear purpose of connecting with its customers sets it apart.”
Laudato will report to Chief Executive Officer Sharon Leite, who took her post in July after a year as Godiva Chocolatier’s North American president.
