
LG Electronics Inc. has named Thomas Yoon president and CEO of LG Electronics North America. – PR NEWSWIRE
Thomas Yoon was named president and chief executive officer at LG Electronics North America, effective Jan. 1. He will also serve as president and CEO of LG Electronics USA Inc.
Yoon has held positions at LG for three decades, including as head of LG’s North American home appliance business and president of LG Canada. Most recently, he served at LG’s global headquarters in Seoul, South Korea as executive vice president and head of overseas sales and marketing for home appliances.
“Thomas Yoon is a very seasoned senior executive with extensive experience in North America over the years. We’re excited to have him back in the Garden State to lead the next chapter in LG’s continued growth here and around the country. Under his leadership, the future is bright for LG,” said John Taylor, senior vice president of public affairs for LG Electronics USA Inc.
He succeeds William Cho, who has led LG North America and LG USA since 2014. Cho has been promoted to global chief strategy officer.
“William Cho’s legacy is establishing the strong foundation for LG’s future growth here and his leadership on our new North American headquarters campus opening next year in Englewood Cliffs,” Taylor added. “I think Mr. Cho will continue to have a positive impact on U.S. operations in his new role as global chief strategy officer.”
In his new role, Yoon will be responsible for LG Electronics business in the United States and Canada for the home appliances, home entertainment products and mobile communications business units as well as commercial displays, HVAC solutions, solar products, and related service and support activities.
