Electricity costs for three electric companies in New Jersey will fall slightly after an auction was held on Wednesday to determine the wholesale costs utilities will pay starting June 1.However, for one of the states largest utilities — Public Service Electric and Gas — the cost will be more, according to a report in the Asbury Park Press.
PSE&G customers will see their average monthly rate increase by $1.28.
Jersey Central Power & Light customers will see a decrease of $1.56.
Atlantic City Electric customers will see a decrease of $3.11.
Rockland Electric will see a 0.7 percent decrease.
BPU President Dianne Solomon told the Asbury Park Press that PSE&G customers will be paying more because electric transmission costs have gone up.
