Trader Joe’s opens its Bridgewater location on Friday.
A grand opening event with live music and tastings will begin at 9 a.m.
The store was announced in May after months of media speculation around the “specialty grocery store” from Kimco Realty that received approval from the Bridgewater planning board on Dec. 11, 2018.
This is Trader Joe’s third New Jersey location to open this month after locations in Brick and Denville on Oct. 14 and Oct. 25 respectively.
“Both the Brick and Danville stores have been warmly welcomed by their neighborhoods,” said spokesperson Kenya Friend-Daniel. “Business has been great, since the openings.”
The newest store is located at 315 Promenade Blvd. in Bridgewater. The store will be managed by Mark Sorhage, a nearly 10 year veteran of the company, and will feature artwork that pays tribute to local attractions like the Delaware and Raritan Canal and the Festival of Ballooning.
The nearest Trader Joe’s locations are in Westfield or North Brunswick.
This is Somerset County’s first location.
