On Jan. 6, Trammell Crow Co. and joint venture partner Chelsea Senior Living announced plans to bring a three-story senior living facility to North Jersey.
The Chelsea at Fair Lawn will offer 93 units at 16-00 River Road in Fair Lawn. Construction began in November 2021 and is expected to be completed by December 2022, according to the partners.
The building will be Fair Lawn’s first independent, assisted living and memory care community, offering 26 independent living units and 67 for assisted living and memory care.

Chelsea Senior Living will manage the community. According to the announcement, it will be the company’s 17th in the state, but first in Bergen County.
Amenities will include 24-hour professional services, three meals a day – prepared by an executive chef – weekly housekeeping, laundry service, a full-service salon and therapy programs, on top of daily activities, parties and events.
The project architect is Douglas Coleman & Associates; IMC is the general contractor.

Valley Bank is the construction lender for the project.
“The demand for senior housing, especially in the Northeast, has grown significantly,” Clarke-Doyle added. “The Chelsea at Fair Lawn will meet the needs of the local senior population that is looking for a high-quality senior living community where they can begin their next chapter.”
