Nicholas Marcello will serve as operations manager for Linden-based Turtle & Hughes at the company’s 45,760-square-foot Regional Distribution Center in Piscataway, the company announced Tuesday.
Marcello previously served as inventory control supervisor at the company’s Central Distribution Center in Bridgewater. He joined the company in 2017 as part of its management training program.
“Nick is a product of our own talent development system,” Chief Operating Officer Kevin Doyle said in a prepared statement. “During his time here, he has proven what we have known all along—when you put the right person with the right abilities in the right position, you are setting your entire organization up for success.”
The training initiative provides new hires with a company overview by circulating team members through the sales, finance and operations departments, resulting in what Turtle & Hughes said, is a placement that fits with an employee’s skill set, strengths and interests.
Marcello was also tapped as a company Rising Star in the fall, providing him with the opportunity to partake in a one-year mentoring program.
Angel Class will replace Marcello as an inventory control supervisor. Class joined the company in January 2018.
