Uber Technologies Inc. is launching a baby and kids product vertical in the Uber Eats app through a partnership with Bed Bath & Beyond and its subsidiary buybuy BABY, serving up essential family products to parents on demand.
The partnership, launched Nov. 1, brings a catalog of essential baby and home products from nearly 120 buybuy BABY and more than 750 Bed Bath & Beyond locations nationwide right to folks’ front doors through the Uber and Uber Eats apps.
“We are rebuilding our authority in the home and baby retail categories to appeal to new consumers, while strengthening relationships with our valued, long-standing customers. This partnership with Uber is a terrific way we are reaching new customers and the fact that buybuy BABY was chosen to help launch Uber’s baby and kids delivery vertical reflects the brand’s leadership in welcoming customers to parenthood,” said Rafeh Masood, Bed Bath & Beyond chief digital and interim chief brand officer, in a prepared statement. “We are excited to begin this journey with Uber and look forward to having their innovative services market and deliver products from Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY right to customers’ doorsteps.”
Parents can simply open the Uber app and tap “Baby” under categories, or even search with the baby emoji.
For the partnership’s first 11 days, Uber customers will get $20 off an order of $60-plus from Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy BABY, Honest, Yumi or Little Spoon.
In honor of the partnership, Uber is donating $200,000 to help Baby2Baby, a nonprofit organization that provides items to children in need across the country and has brought more than 200 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals, underserved schools, and more over the last decade.
