Uber and the City of Newark are offering discounted rides to families eligible for bottled water in the Pequannock service area.
Residents in the Pequannock Service Area can use code NWK20 for discounted rides to water distribution centers. The code is valid for up to four rides per user and $20 per ride.
From 8:30 a.m.to 4:00 p.m., Mon. through Sun., residents can be taken to the City of Newark Department of Health and Wellness at 110 William St.
From 11:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m., Mon. through Sun., residents can be taken to the Bo Porter Sports Complex at 378 Lyons Ave., Boylan Street Recreation Center at 916 S. Orange Ave., or Vince Lombardi Center at 201 Bloomfield Ave.
Pregnant mothers and residents who are on WIC are advised to go to the Newark Department of Health and Wellness location.

Bottled water will be available while the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency continue to conduct testing of Newark’s water supply, which has shown higher than expected levels of lead.
