The opening of Vermella East at Hudson Pointe, Russo Development’s third luxury apartment community in Kearny, marks the introduction of a new brand for the historic Passaic Avenue industrial corridor.
Leasing for the 268-unit Vermella East at Hudson Pointe is now available for August move-ins.
The transformation takes the former Bat Factory into one of northern New Jersey’s most compelling retail and residential districts. In-person visits as well as the virtual leasing are available for showing.
Studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments feature gourmet kitchens with energy-efficient appliances, custom cabinets, quartz countertops, 9-foot ceilings, spacious floorplans, ample storage space, in-home washer-dryers, and smart locks.
Vermella’s signature amenity package includes a resort-style pool, fitness center featuring Fitness on Demand and a yoga studio, a game room with billiards and TVs, a clubhouse with a we-work-style space, and outdoor amenities including a dog run.
Each building offers access to a promenade that extends to Newark and Harrison. The 7-mile Passaic River Walkway is perfect for bikers, walkers and runners looking for exercise or relaxation.
Passaic Avenue also features Kearny Commons, one of the most dynamic retail corridors in Hudson County with retailers like BJ’s, Marshalls, LA Fitness, Starbucks, Chipotle, a new urgent care center, and more all just a short walk from Vermella East.
Commutes from Vermella East are convenient by road via major highways including Route 280, and with PATH service to New York and other hubs from the nearby Harrison Station, which is connected to the community by two private shuttles that run morning and evening. Travelers will also enjoy the convenience of being near Newark Liberty International Airport.
“Kearny as a location is the epitome of our strategy to find ideal locations in North Jersey and create a product that offers the best qualities of urban and suburban living for those who want to live in the New York Metro-area,” Adam Pasternack, president of Russo Property Management. “Our portfolio-wide occupancy rates of 98 percent are a testament to the great things that can be achieved when public and private entities work together to answer a demand for the community.”
Russo Development has been a partner in Kearny’s renaissance into an urban transit community since 2013 with the opening of Russo Development’s Vermella Crossing, a 150-unit community with a CVS and Investor’s Bank at Schuyler and Bergen Avenues. Russo opened Vermella Crossing’s second phase across the street in 2018 with 80 additional apartment homes and Vermella West on Passaic Avenue later that year, offering 280 more homes.
