Marta Person Villa, most recently with JLL, is rejoining CBRE, that firm announced on Feb. 4.
Villa joins the firm’s Retail Services practice as a senior vice president, based in its North Jersey office in Saddle Brook.
According to CBRE, with more than 25 years of industry experience, Villa will work to expand the firm’s retail services through the Garden State.
“It is particularly gratifying to welcome back yet another successful and seasoned professional to the CBRE team,” said Senior Managing Director of New Jersey operations Jeffrey Hipschman. “Marta will be an instrumental part of our retail practice as we continue to grow and serve the constantly evolving requirements of owners and retailers, especially during these challenging times brought on by the pandemic.”
Last month, CBRE announced the addition of another previous team member when Marc Trevisan rejoined the firm as a senior vice president in its occupier group.
Among her noteworthy deals, Villa was responsible for the sale of an 11-acre Wall Township site to Mega Holdings LLC, which was developed into a 60,000-square-foot grocery-anchored center on Route 35, according to CBRE. She is an expert in the Newark market, and has completed more than 50 retail leases in the state’s largest city.
Among her most prominent tenants are Trek Bikes, Fulton Bank, Sky Zone, Carvana and Tempur-Pedic. On the landlord side, CBRE highlighted clients including SJP Properties and Transformco.
A licensed real estate broker in the state of New Jersey, before her career in retail Villa spent nearly two decades working directly for municipalities and nonprofits in urban redevelopment and downtown revitalization, CBRE said. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and served as private sector co-chair of the ICSC Alliance – NJ from 2010 to 2013. She is also a member of USA Field Hockey and U.S. Figure Skating.
