Wakefern Food Corp. promoted two executives Wednesday, with Steve Henig the co-op’s new chief customer officer and Bryant Harris its chief merchandising officer.
Henig has held various roles at the Keasbey-based company over the past three decades. In his most recent role of vice president of digital commerce and analytics, he was in charge for e-commerce initiatives, app development and analytics needs. Last year, he oversaw the launch of Wakefern’s first automated micro fulfillment center, and he leads the ShopRite from Home grocery delivery service.
As chief customer officer, Henig will oversee the branding, e-commerce, marketing and advertising departments; and will work with Wakefern’s 51 member families, leaders and associates to develop a consistent brand voice.
In Harris’s role, he will oversee Wakefern’s product procurement strategy, in store merchandising, pricing and promotions. Harris has nearly 20 years of retail experience, and has held roles at Walmart and Sam’s Club. He was previously executive vice president, chief commercial officer for Save A Lot.
