Wakefern Food Corp. plans to host a walk-up job fair to fill open positions at several of its supermarket banners across the Northeast.
During the event, which is set for June 1 from 2 to 6 p.m., job seekers can visit most participating ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Gourmet Garage or Fairway Market stores for an on-the-spot interview.
In a May 24 press release announcing the effort, the Keasbey-based grocery cooperative said full-time, part-time and management positions are available, depending on location.
Openings – which include jobs in general, perishable, front end and stocking – offer flexible hours and entertainment and tuition discounts, according to Wakefern.
The company also provides a wide variety of cross training to equip employees with the skills needed to work as a team through the store.
Additionally, the positions come with opportunities for career growth within the entire Wakefern co-op and its member companies, many of which are family-owned businesses, the release said.
Wakefern did not specify how many jobs the stores are trying to fill.
Interested candidates can get more information about the job fair and career opportunities by checking with their local stores, according to Wakefern.
