Columbia Bank, headquartered in Fair Lawn, named Jenifer Walden as its executive vice president, chief human resources officer, effective immediately.
Walden succeeds Geri Kelly, who will retire in September, Columbia Bank said in a June 15 announcement. In addition to human resources, Walden will also oversee learning and development.
Walden brings more than 20 years’ experience at Fortune 50 financial institutions, including Ernst & Young and Prudential, and more recently at three smaller firms, including a mid-cap bank, a technology startup and a global manufacturing company.
Walden, who is a doctoral candidate in strategic leadership at Liberty University, earned a master’s degree in organizational development and leadership from St. Joseph’s University and a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University.
Additionally, she is an executive coach with life-coach service BetterUp and is a Professional Certified Coach, Society of HR Managers-Senior Certified Professional and HRCI-Senior HR Professional. Her community involvement includes serving as executive board chair of the Our Chalet Foundation in Switzerland; a member of the Friends of Our Chalet Committee in New York City; an advisory board member of St. Joseph’s University’s Erivan K. Haub School of Business and an alumni volunteer for St. Lawrence.
