Wawa offers free coffee to educators in September

School is back in session — and so is educators’ need for caffeine.  

To recognize these professionals, Wawa Inc. is giving away any size hot coffee to teachers and school administrators from Sept. 1-30. Faculty can show their school ID at the register to redeem the offer. 

The retailer is extending this “Cheers to Classrooms” campaign across its Mid-Atlantic operating area, which includes New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Wawa ran the campaign in Florida in August. 

Additionally, through a partnership with Donor’s Choose, Wawa announced a $50,000 matching fund to support schools throughout its operating area. To enter, teachers can submit a project at www.donorschoose.org. Schools that meet Wawa’s funding criteria may receive matching funds. 

Donor’s Choose is an online resource for teachers to submit funding requests for school supplies and support. 

“Wawa is excited to bring back its Cheers to Classrooms initiative to put a smile on the faces of teachers and administration that work so hard to do the same for children in our community,” Dave Simonetti, Wawa’s senior director of store operations, said in a statement.
