Wawa, QuickChek launch summer deals, new items

Ahead of summer, fan-favorite convenience store chains and are launching exclusive promotions and special menu items.

Pennsylvania-based Wawa is giving bonus perks to its rewards members that include $1 self-service coffee (up to 24 ounces), $2 (up to 32 ounces) and $1 Wawa teas and fruit drinks (16 ounces). The campaign runs through June 22.

Additionally, Wawa introduced pineapple and watermelon flavors for its smoothies, refreshers and lemonade lineup. Also new: sour cherry-flavored popping bubbles that can be added into Wawa beverages for a tart, crisp taste.

New Jersey is home to nearly 300 of the brand’s 1,110 outposts.

Mary-Rose Hannum, Wawa’s chief marketing product officer, commented, “What better way to head into summer than to Sip into Savings with our customers’ favorite beverages at a great value. Whether it’s a quick stop for a hot coffee in the morning or for an afternoon refresher, Wawa customers can expect it to be the easiest part of their day.”

Meanwhile …

At QuickChek, the summer lineup includes new sub offerings and $3 hot or cold lattes after 3 p.m. It also unveiled cookies and milkshakes flavored with Nerds candy.

In addition to 6-inch subs, the $4.99 menu includes “subwiches.” Served on fresh, locally baked bread with QuickChek’s signature recipes, they “handle like a sandwich, but eats like a sub,” according to the chain.

QuickChek’s self-serve coffee bar will feature “Ube Vanilla” (vanilla with creamy, nutty undertones) for the month of May, followed by “Boardwalk Blend” (chocolate, marshmallow and nutty almond) in June. Customers can also enjoy 99-cent coffee with the purchase of one of QuickChek’s made-to-order breakfast sandwiches.
