Wayne pickle manufacturer and distributor Patriot Pickle has acquired Farm Ridge Foods’ pickle business. Farm Ridge Foods is based in Islandia, N.Y., and distributes pickled products into the retail channel under its own name, as well as private label and third-party brands.
Patriot Pickle CEO Bill McEntee said that the acquisition of Farm Ridge Foods is a key step toward rounding out and building his company’s internal retail sales capabilities.
“Fresh, refrigerated pickles are a key growth area for our retail and foodservice partners, and we are excited to be able to better serve them more directly with this acquisition,” McEntee said.
Corby Reese, Patriot Pickle board chair and managing director of private equity firm Swander Pace Capital, called the acquisition “a value-enhancing add-on for the Patriot Pickle investment platform.” Patriot Pickle is a Swander Pace portfolio company.
“We will continue to look for interesting investment opportunities within the fermented foods and pickled vegetable category to further establish Patriot Pickle as a leading fermented foods platform,” Reese said.
