Whole Foods Northeast is currently headquartered in Englewood Cliffs. The grocer signed a lease with Mack-Cali for a 47,398-square-foot office for its new Northeast Regional headquarters, according to realty company. It also signed a lease for a 47,542-square-foot retail location nearby.
“We have started 2019 on solid footing, securing Whole Foods Market in both our retail and office space at our signature Harborside center as part of our Waterfront Strategy,” said Mack-Cali Chief Executive Officer Michael DeMarco in a statement. “As we look ahead, our greatest opportunity and most valuable asset is our empty space and we fully intend to extract its value as we stabilize our office holdings and lease our newly developed multifamily properties.”
Nicole Wescoe, Whole Foods’ northeast regional president, said the company is excited for their move, which will happen later this year.
“Located right on the waterfront, with a variety of on-site amenities and numerous retail, dining, and transportation options in the surrounding area, the new office will offer our team members much more than a workspace,” Wescoe said, noting that the upcoming Whole Foods location will be the first in Jersey City.
“We can’t wait to join the vibrant Jersey City community and look forward to providing our neighbors with the highest quality food and service,” Wescoe added.
