Whole Foods Market opened at the Shops at Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken on July 26.
Whole Foods sourced products from more than 150 local suppliers to stock its shelves, including 50 local producers in its produce department alone, the company said. Regional goods are also available in the butcher department, bakery department, and specialty foods section.
As part of opening day celebrations, New York City-based all-women Brazilian samba-reggae drum line Fogo Azul was scheduled to perform from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and five percent of the store’s net sales on opening day will benefit the Weehawken High School Culinary Initiative. Product samples will be available in-store all weekend.
The location is the brand’s 20th New Jersey store. Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The store brings 190 part- and full-time jobs to the area, according to the company.
