Will Jersey City’s Fulop run for governor? Video

Eric Strauss//November 14, 2014

It’s the question everyone who’s familiar with Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop wants to know the answer to: Has he considered running for governor of New Jersey?

Veteran television journalist Steve Adubato asked the mayor that exact question.

But Fulop opted to “punt,” using the football analogy to politely decline to answer.

He did say that he is perfectly happy serving as mayor of Jersey City.

“If my political career was to end as the mayor of Jersey City, I would sleep fine at night,” Fulop told Adubato.

Watch the clip for the entertaining back-and-forth, which took place earlier this month at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation “Culture of Health” event in Jersey City.
