Wireless Tech Firm Makes it to Super Bowl

Woodbridge-based Velocita Wireless is teaming up with Paynet Transaction Services of Concord, Calif., to run 300 wireless point-of-sale sites in and around the University of Phoenix Stadium, the site of Super Bowl XLII. The NFL championship game will be played between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.

Velocita Wireless owns and operates a nationwide network used for transmitting data wirelessly between machines. Paynet Transaction Services processes transactions for specialty retail merchants.

“Domed stadiums often present a challenging venue for operating wireless applications, and this year is no exception,” said Eric Kirk, vice president of Paynet Transactions. “The unique ability of Velocita Wireless to provide customized network coverage…allows Paynet to focus on using our experience in the specialty retail business.”
