Yoga, Pilates and martial arts studios may open for non-contact classes at 25 percent capacity, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Tuesday.
Yoga, Pilates and martial arts studios, and individualized training studios which are not licensed health clubs, are considered indoor recreation.
“They must observe social distancing, and all participants, including instructors, must be masked,” he said. “We know everyone wants to get back to their old workout routines, but we have been clear through the guidance we have released that outdoor activities are safer than indoor activities, and that spans everything from exercise to dining.”
Facilities that are classified as licensed health clubs can only open their indoor areas for 1-on-1 training.
