Zallie Family Markets is gearing up to unveil a brand-new ShopRite in South Jersey.

Located in Woolwich Township, the 78,000-square-foot supermarket at Center Square Plaza is scheduled to host a grand opening celebration June 4.

Designed to meet the needs of modern shoppers, the state-of-the-art store features new services and expanded product selections, according to Zallie Family Markets.

Some of the highlights include an indoor and outdoor café, hot bar, wok station, cheese and charcuterie area and a 1,300-square-foot area dedicated to ShopRite’s online shopping service.

The store’s food service and bakery departments offer a full variety of Zallie’s Fresh Kitchen products, with a special emphasis on fresh foods-to-go, while the catering and floral departments can handle any size party or event.

Additionally, the supermarket has LED lighting, along with eco-friendly, energy-efficient refrigerated cases.

Following the official opening, ShopRite will keep the celebration going through June 17 with food samplings and special giveaways.

“We are proud to open our newest and largest ShopRite,” said David Zallie, president of Zallie Family Markets. “This store continues to showcase our commitment to offer incredible value, quality and service. We thank our customers for their patience as we prepared the new store and look forward to sharing the ShopRite experience with new customers.”

The soon-to-be-opened store replaces the ShopRite of Gibbstown, which permanently closed April 13.

It’s also just one of several investments Zallie Family Markets is making in its stores as the company marks 50 years in the supermarket business.

A member of Keasbey-based retailer co-op Wakefern Food Corp., Zallie Family Markets owns and operates 10 ShopRite locations in South Jersey and one in Philadelphia.

The company recently unveiled a remodel of the ShopRite of Glassboro, the store’s first major renovation since opening over 25 years ago.

It also plans to open a new ShopRite in Blackwood, at the site of a former Kmart in Cherrywood Plaza. That location will take the place of the existing ShopRite of Laurel Hill, the family-owned chain’s first supermarket in South Jersey, which launched in 1973 as a Shop & Bag Market under David’s father, George Zallie.
