BJ’s Wholesale Club opened its 24th membership warehouse club in New Jersey, located at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne.
The new store and tire center, BJ’s first in Passaic County, also features a six-pump gas station that is expected to open in December, the Massachusetts-based chain said in a press release announcing the Nov. 18 grand opening.
“We couldn’t be happier to open our doors and begin welcoming members into our brand-new club,” said Frank Griscavage, manager of Wayne’s BJ’s Wholesale Club. “We’re excited to bring the value and convenience of BJ’s Wholesale Club into the Wayne community.”
To celebrate its arrival in Wayne, BJ’s partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Northwestern New Jersey’s local branch and made monetary donations in support of the organization’s youth programs.
Gina Radice, the nonprofit’s director of resource development and marketing, said, “We rely on support from our neighbors, like BJ’s, to provide our youth with opportunities that enable them to grow, learn, and lead healthy lifestyles. We’d like to thank BJ’s Wholesale Club for its contributions and can’t wait for the new club to open its doors to our community.”
Additionally, as part of a food rescue nationwide partnership between the chain and Feeding America, the Wayne store will donate unsold perishable food to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, according to the press release.
Located at 300 Willowbrook Blvd., BJ’s is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Following Wayne’s opening, BJ’s now has 234 clubs and 163 gas stations in 18 states across the United States.
The new store is located less than a mile away from another competing club, Costco Wholesale Corp.
