Carlstadt-based beef purveyor Schweid & Sons is bringing its expertise in premium quality meats to the breakfast table.

With the recent launch of its premium fresh pork breakfast sausage patties, the family-owned and operated fourth-generation company has entered a new protein category and expanded its retail presence.

The sausages, which come in original, Italian and apple flavors, can be found in the fresh meat aisle at select markets throughout the Northeast, with wider distribution forthcoming during the third and fourth quarters of fiscal year 2022.

Sourced from humanely raised U.S. pork that contains no antibiotics or growth-promoting hormones, Schweid & Sons sausage patties are made without fillers, nitrates, nitrites or artificial flavors or colors, according to the company.

Each 12-ounce package contains eight 1.5-ounce patties and has a suggested retail price of $6.49.

Jamie Schweid, president and chief executive of Schweid & Sons, promised that customers will “taste the difference” from the “very first bite.”

“We’ve established ourselves as a trusted leader in beef, but as we look to the future, we see ourselves as a leader in protein. Based on extensive territory mapping and other research to identify where our brand fits best, fresh breakfast pork sausage was one of the top performers,” he said. “Our fresh breakfast sausage patties are crafted from premium cuts of pork that include the butt, shoulder and loin; we then loosely grind those flavorful cuts and combine them with only the highest quality spices to deliver a superior product.”

In addition to being a consumer favorite at supermarkets, Schweid & Sons supplies high-quality ground beef to grocery retailers and restaurants, including Five Guys, Fuddruckers and Cheesecake Factory.

Schweid & Sons also serves up its signature burgers at events such as the Food Network’s annual Burger Bash and the Cooking Channel’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival.
