Who is your most influential role model? My first employer, Warren Hansen, who taught me that every line counts. He was a man of impeccable taste who was creative, precise and a tad intimidating. He displayed an unwavering respect for his clients. He also was a patient mentor and teacher.
When is it appropriate to text in business? For quick communications that don’t include dissemination of bad news, critical business decisions or changes to meeting times.
What is your go-to stress buster at work? A good belly-aching laugh with my business partner, Sandee Markwith, followed by a Curly Wurly candy bar.
What do you wish someone had told you earlier in your career? To push harder and to network more vigorously in the early years, as the results become exponential once you have been at it for 20 years.
