Newell Brands moving HQ to Atlanta

Newell Brands will move its headquarters from Hoboken to Atlanta by early 2020, the company announced Friday morning.

Three of Newell’s operating divisions (Writing, Baby and Food) are situated in Atlanta, and the move is intended “to facilitate a stronger connection between senior leaders and the operations of the business, and to enhance the company’s culture and sense of community.”

A Newell spokesperson told NJBIZ via email that 1,000 employees are already in Atlanta, and that only corporate leaders, which number less than 100, will be leaving New Jersey. Approximately 200 employees will remain in Hoboken as part of Newell’s e-commerce division.

“We are planning to continue our presence here,” the spokesperson said.

Newell also announced its retention of Rubbermaid Commercial Products, which was slated for divestiture by the end of the year.
