BRC’s Metz Group signs logistics provider for 50K square feet in Linden

Bussel Realty Corp.’s leased half of a 100,000-square-foot industrial building in Linden to a freight forwarding leader.

Italian logistics company Del Corona & Scardigli signed on for 50,000 square feet at 1805 Lower Road, BRC announced Feb. 21.

Senior Vice President Jordan Metz, Senior Associate Benito Abbate and Sales Associate James Friel represented the landlord, Linden Warehouse & Distribution. Meanwhile, the tenant was represented by McBride Corporate Real Estate, which has offices in New York and New Jersey.

Industrial/retail sales brokerage BRC is based in Edison. According to the company, it currently handles more than 3 million square feet of corporate and industrial real estate in New Jersey.

Linden Warehouse & Distribution operates approximately 1.2 million square feet of public warehouse space at facilities in Linden and Edison. The company specializes in the handling, distribution and cross-docking of general commodities, retail merchandise, chemicals and related products.

“We had significant interest from tenants attracted to the Class A modern features and unparalleled location that 1805 Lower Road affords to a wide variety of users,” Metz continued. “With vacancy rates hovering near 3.5% for industrial units 50,000 square feet or smaller in size, buildings in a port-proximate and consumer-centric location such as 1805 Lower Road are well-positioned to capture current demand.”

Del Corona & Scardigli has offices around the world and throughout the U.S. In New Jersey, the company currently lists a Lyndhurst location on its website.

DCS did not immediately return a request for comment as to whether the Linden space was either an expansion of its Garden State footprint or a relocation.

According to Del Corona & Scardigli, it is a market leader in moving chemicals. Additionally DCS is active in industrial sectors, such as mechanic, stone, paper and food stuff.
